Reclaimed wood, a very nice way to create new!

Yes, another project is done. The stairwell fence is finished and installed. It looks good although all the wood used is reclaimed from hardwood shutters that were hanging outside for 2 decades. This process proved that it's worthwhile to safe up stuff other people throw away.

Thanks to a local builder I got a van full of old doors, shutters, and windows, from which there's only a few left. Som of the doors were cut down for furniture, some were only useful as firewood. Most of the windows found a place in a wooden cabin owned by friends, half of the shutters ended up in our garden as the doors for a tool cabinet and the others, well this is the result. It surprises me how fast that van full of wood turned into other usable items. It means I will have to look for more....
